Thomas Arthur Rude, age 60, life-long resident of Eau Claire, died at home in the presence of his family, Saturday, April 12th, 2008, due to complications from Alzheimer's disease.
 
Thomas was born September 8th, 1947 to Arthur and Doris Rude. In 1965, Tom graduated from Memorial High School. He attended University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire before taking a job at American National Bank in downtown Eau Claire. 
 
He was married on December 20th, 1974 to Elizabeth Atkins at Christ Church Cathedral in Eau Claire. He was a devoted family man and loving father. 
 
 

Tom served Eau Claire as a banker for almost 37 years. He completed a professional banking degree from the School for Bank Administration. He loved helping customers and was very active in the community. He retired when illness struck in 2003. 
 
Tom will be remembered as having a gift for making people smile and a wonderful sense of humor. He was an adoring husband, a magnificent father, and a loyal friend to many. 
 
Tom is survived by his wife, Elizabeth and two sons, Joseph and his wife, Sanya Carley of Durham, NC and Daniel of Eau Claire. Other surviving family includes his father, Arthur of Hayward, WI, brother, Robert of Bristol, RI, sister-in-law, Patricia of Barrington, RI, sister-in-law, Frances (Delbert) Johnson of Kasson, MN, brother-in-law, Paul (Jan) Atkins of Avon, CT, and beloved nephews and nieces and their children. 
 
He was preceded in death by his mother Doris Erickson Rude of Hayward, WI. 
 
A funeral service for Thomas will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 15th, 2008 at Grace Episcopal Church, E4357 451st Avenue, Menomonie, WI, 54751, with the Reverend Dale E. Klitzke officiating. Family and friends may call at the church Monday evening from 5 PM to 7 PM and again Tuesday morning from 9:30 AM-10:30 AM.
 
Directions are as follows: from Int. 94, take Exit 41 going south on Hwy 25 (3.4 miles). Then take a right on 28th Avenue (aka 490th Avenue West). Take a left on Bongey Drive and then a right on 451st Avenue. The church is adjacent to Pinewood Golf Course.
