Hi Jeanette- I just saw on the computer where Gene passed away. I was surprised to see that he was at Osseo instead of at the Dove. I enjoyed having lunch or supper with you both there at the Dove. You were such a caring & wonderful wife to Gene. I know it was a tough job for you to visit the Dove EVERY DAY but you will never regret it. He was a very lucky man to have such a caring wife. I'm in Mesa, AZ now for the winter but I wanted you to know that you are in my thoughts & prayers now during this difficult time. Take care of YOURSELF NOW. hUGS, Lois

I feel badly about you loss Of Gene. He and I sang in the high school choir and in some of the small choral groups that were a part of it. I always enjoyed Gene. About 20 years ago I started to attend the EC High Class reunions with Don Gregis and was always pleased to have a chance to talk with Gene. At the last reunion, you sat across the table from us. Gene was not well then. Please accept our deep sympathy. Ellen Moore Imbody

Jeanette & Family: My thoughts and prayers go out to you during these difficult times. Gene was such a special person that he will be truly missed here on earth. I owe so much to Gene for who I am today and the way my life turned out that I can’t express it in a few words today. Not only did he help guide me to become an FBI agent but he helped build my character to become a better person. Quite often in my own life I would be in a situations and would think, what would Gene do in a situation like this. It would help me make the right decision. Gene was such an inspiration to me growing up that I have tried to pass his advise and enthusiasm to the youth that I came in contact with over the years. Like wise when I had the opportunity to guide someone interested in becoming an FBI agent I would always try to help them fulfill those dreams just like Gene helped fulfill mine. For that I am eternally grateful to him. Gene was truly an Angel from God here on earth to make us all better people. I know a great many people share my thoughts and feelings about Gene. Jeanette and Family, I was very sad to hear of Gene's passing yesterday. As you know Gene was very instrumental in my choosing an FBI career. Gene was also so helpful to Rick Ostrom and I once we had applied to the FBI and Gene ultimately did both of our backgrounds. After I was hired, Gene continued to give me great advice regarding FBI matters. He was a great mentor and friend. I retired from the FBI in 2004 and am now the Executive Director of Corporate Security for M&I Bank. My wife (Mona) and I have two children (Ellyn - UW Madison and Brian - High School Senior in Brookfield). We always enjoyed seeing you and Gene on Sunday mornings at the Holiday Inn in Eau Claire, when we would be visiting and having breakfast with my parents. Time goes too fast! I wish you and your family the best. I will never forget Gene; he was the consummate professional and a true friend. Sincerely, Jeff Frank & Family

To Jean and the family. I will miss his smile and caring ways. It was a real pleasure to know Gene! I'll also miss him at the Corn Roasts, and all the fun stuff. As I sit here I can hear his laugh and see his eyes light up. I'm blessed to have had him as a friend and an associate in the Milwaukee Office. God Bless you All and we'll all keep his memories close in our hearts. Sue

I'm a retired FBI Special Agent, and I worked with Gene in the early 1970s at the Milwaukee Office when I was an inexperienced agent with only two years of service and he was in charge of background investigations. Gene was always understanding, kind, and helpful to me and others. He was a person of great humor and knowledge and we all looked up to him in so many ways. I'm sure his family will miss him very much, but they can take great pride in remembering the dignified, dutiful man that he was. My sincere condolences to all in his family.
