Dietrick W. Schmidt, 77, of Eau Claire, passed away June 29, 2008, at Bloomer Hospital. He was born May 9, 1931, to Albert and Elizabeth
(Hartl) Schmidt. He attended Cleghorn School and Eau Claire Senior High School. He married Donna Wingad on March 19, 1955.
He entered the Army on January 6, 1956 through December 31, 1961, and was stationed in Germany. He enjoyed the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers!! |
He is survived by Donna, his wife of 53 years. Three sons, Timothy (Patti) Schmidt of Fall Creek; Steven (Annette) Schmidt of Eau Claire; and Daniel
(Kelli) Schmidt of Prospect, KY. Five grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and two-step great-grandchildren. One sister, Gloria (David) Fischer of Canton, Ohio. Five sister-in-laws, Oscora Schmidt, Margie (Charles)
Flaskrud, Judy Marquardt, Kathy Knudtson, and Janet Heister. Many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Three brothers, Norman (Pearl), Howard
(Jeanetta), and Harold. One sister-in-law Audrey Erickson. |

Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Altoona with Reverend Jeffery Lambrecht officiating. Internment will be at Chapel of the Resurrection Mausoleum in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Rd. in Eau Claire with a 7:30 military service by American Legion Post 550. Visitation will continue at church one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
