I would like to send my thoughts and prayers to the Schwartz family. Bill always told me about his Grandma Schwartz. How she was such a strong minded woman who wanted a property on the lake, enjoyed travelling and seeing the world. I know her energy will be missed. Peace to all.

Dear Schwartz Family, I have many fond memories about Harriet because she was just so much fun. When I first met Harriet up at Big Birch Lake, she welcomed us in like family. And she knew so much about so many things. As a young bride, Harriet took me through the steps of making the "perfect fried egg". That skill came in handy almost everyday of my life since then; and even once when I being bullied by my big brother about "how to make the perfect fried egg". Of course I quoted Harriet with lots of authority about egg technique. Many times since her lesson, while making breakfast for my family have wonderful memories of all the Schwartzes made me smile and remember a determined mother who loved her family with all her heart. Love, Mary Ellen & Don Johnson I will always remember with fondness the happy days at the lake. Harriet made things interesting. DonJ

Dear Family Members of Harriet I was saddened to hear of Harriet's passing. The video depicting her life speaks volumes about her love for her family. My husband taught in Colby from 1973 until his death in 1993. Harriet mentored him and continued to keep in touch with us after her retirement and move to Eau Claire. I did have lunch with her in her Eau Claire home. Whenever she returned to Colby, she and Margaret Armstrong would come to our home to visit; we shared many meals, stories, and laughs. I'll always remember how she handled being stopped by a lady state trooper for speeding on Hwy. 29. Only Harriet would have responded the way she did! I recall her love of swimming and spending time at your family cottages in MN. Sadly, after several Christmas letters were returned to me since my husband's death, I lost track of her. She must have moved to assisted living facilities. She was articulate, independent, a perfectionist, and loving; memories of her bring a smile to my heart. You are in my thoughts and prayers as you celebrate her life and what she meant to each of you.

We were saddened to read about Harriet's death. The memorial slideshow is excellent. She was a beautiful lady. We can still see her walking up and down the driveway. We have sent a memorial in her name to the Maryknoll Fathers in Africa for my uncle's windmill project. Africans in a small community will soon benefit from clean water. Sincerely, Roy & Suzie

To Harriet's family - My sympathies to all of you during this terribly sad time. Though it has been a very long time since I last saw Harriet (when she lived off Hamilton Avenue), the picture in the paper and the memorial video brought her so back to life. The video is beautiful - and I'm sure it holds only a tiny tiny bit of all the love and laughter shared with your Mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. I wish I could have been at the funeral and shared a hug with you. May your memories ALWAYS be warm, happy and everlasting.....as was your Mom's love. Kerri

Mrs. Schwartz was my English teacher at Colby High School, and our Masquers Club Advisor, as well. She was a fun lady and I really respected her. My sympathy to her family.
