Marvin R. Seibel, age 80 of Eau Claire, died Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Sacred Heart Hospital.
 
   Marvin was born June 20, 1927, in Bloomer, Wisconsin, the son of Edward and Martha (Hansen) Seibel. He served two years in the United States Navy during World War II.
 
On July 1, 1948, Marvin married Beverly Scheidecker at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Bloomer, Wisconsin.
 
During his career, Marvin was employed by the Skelly Oil Co. in Minnesota as a district salesman, L.P. plant manager at the Bloomer Farmers Union, the general manager of the Rusk County Farmers Union, the Eau Claire Co-op Oil Co., and the Augusta, Foster, and Fall Creek Farmers Union Co-op. 

 
Marvin was an active member at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altoona, where he served on the church board and was an usher and Eucharistic minister. During his life, Marvin was a volunteer in many organizations; he served as a board member and president at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Bloomer, the Bloomer Fire Department, as Secretary of the Wisconsin Co-op Managers Association, as well as a volunteer at Sacred Heart Hospital. Marvin was instrumental in getting the Bloomer Little League Program started. For relaxation, Marvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing.
 
Marvin is survived by his wife of 59 years, Beverly of Eau Claire; daughter, Victoria (Thomas) Stumm of Eau Claire; sons, Daniel Seibel of Vail, Colorado and Scott (Nancy) Seibel of Hingham, Massachusetts; two grandchildren, Megan E. Deisz of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Nicholas Seibel of Hingham Massachusetts.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Judith Bollom and Beverly Nyhus.
 
A Funeral Mass for Marvin will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altoona, Wisconsin, with Father N. Wilger and Monsignor E. Klimek officiating. Friends may call at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Rd, Eau Claire, on Tuesday evening from 4-7 p.m., where a 6:30 prayer service will be held, and again at church one hour prior to services. Entombment will be at Chapel of the Resurrection Mausoleum.
