Ilene Bernice Stai Shaker, 88, died on April 27, 2008 at Syverson Lutheran Home in Eau Claire.
Ilene was born February 20, 1920 in Eau Claire to Olaf and Inga (Pederson)
Stai. She married Leslie Shaker.
She was very active in the Rock Creek Lutheran Church in many different organizations. Ilene enjoyed baking, her flower gardens, fishing, playing cards, and entertaining her family and friends. She was a school bus driver for 23 years and enjoyed the smiles of all the kids every morning. |

She thoroughly enjoyed playing cards with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They put the light in her life.
Ilene is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Ron) Moen, Barnes, WI and Pamela (James) Scott, Eau Claire; 6 grandchildren: Dean Catt, Debra (Duane) Jenson, Peggy DuFour, Chad (Debra) Schuh, Jill (Kevin) Dawson, and Amy (Steve) Gretschmann; 10 great grandchildren; and 3 2/3 great-great grandchildren.
She is further survived by a sister, Avis Kilde, and brothers, Vaughn (Ruth Ann) Stai and Allen (Eunice) Stai.
Ilene is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Leslie (Bud); son, Gary; infant son; brothers, Francis, Glen, Earl, Orrin, Bill and Lee Stai.
Services for Ilene will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Mondovi, WI with Pastor Dale Horner, Jr. officiating. Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at Rock Creek Meridean Cemetery.
