Kenneth Robert Tetzloff, 82, died Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the Syverson Lutheran Home in Eau Claire. He had struggled for many years with Parkinson's Disease, and that was the cause of his death.

He was born December 29, 1925, in Francesville, Indiana to Lola and Elmer Tetzloff. He was graduated from Pulaski High School in December of 1944, and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy for WWII, serving for more than two years, mostly stationed in San Diego and Hawaii. He was a radioman on shore and on PBY observation aircraft. After the War he worked for the Signal Corp and several defense contractors before opening up a radio and television store in Keeler, Michigan, in the early 1950s.

He married Geraldine Davis of Keeler, Michigan, on December 3, 1955. They lived for a time in Michigan and then moved to Eau Claire in 1958. They had four children, John (Lynn) Tetzloff, Oak Creek, Wisconsin, Janet (Hollis) Limberg, St Paul, Jason Tetzloff, Findlay, Ohio and Jo-Ellen (John) Douville, Milwaukee.

For many years he worked as the chief engineer at the former WIAL/WEAQ radio stations, and later worked as an electrician for Packerland Packing and Armour. He retired in 1991, and continued to live in Eau Claire, first at his home and then later at Mount Washington Assisted Living and then at the Syverson Home. Many homes and friends benefited from his skills as an electrician, as he often helped with projects. He was a long-term member of Chapel Heights United Methodist church and was a charter member of that congregation.

Ken was a fan of cribbage, fishing, and was known to eat a bowl or two of ice cream while watching a Packer game or a John Wayne movie. He worked hard at his work and was proud of his work. In retirement, he became the unofficial photographer of activities at Mount Washington and at the Syverson Lutheran Home, and until the last few months he was active in many of the activities there.

His four children, his five grandchildren, Joseph Tetzloff, Jordan Tetzloff, Michael Limberg, Trevor Limberg, and Danielle Douville survive him. His two sisters, Hazel Stamper and Irma Tetzloff also survive, as do many nieces and nephews.

His wife, Geraldine, his parents, and sisters Alice, Leona, and Doris, preceded him in death.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 21, 2008 at the Fuller- Speckien-Hulke Funeral home in Eau Claire. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to either the National Parkinson Foundation, http://www.parkinson.org/NETCOMMUNITY/Page.aspx?pid=279&srcid=201, or to the Syverson Lutheran Home Activities Fund.
