Babe and Family, Greg and I offer you our deepest sympathy. We do rejoice that Norm is now in the presence of God but know he will be dearly missed. We thank God for the wonderful testimony Norm lived before us while we got to know you at Salem. Our prayers are with you, Greg and Janet

I have gone to Salem for many years with Norm and Babe. The thing that always comes to mind about Norm was when he saw me he would say "how's it going young fella". Norm was always so cheerful even when he was struggling physically. He was also a great example of not letting physical problems keep him from getting out to church.

To the Family of Norm Velie, I did not spend a lot of time with Norm, however, I did have the privilege of spending a few weeks with him in Alaska, in 1984. I consider that trip to be one of the most memorable and fun experiences in my life. A big part of what made that trip so special was Norm. I'll never forget, a couple nights, Norm and I stayed up late around the camp fire as he told me about some of his experiences in WWII. Norm definitely was typical of his generation. He was gentle, yet strong, devoted to his country, his family, and his Faith in God. That was evident from the first time I met him. He definitely had a positive influence on me, in a short amount of time. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. With Great Sympathy, Bruce Grohn
