Edna Luise Ziehlsdorff, age 91 formally of Eau Claire, died Friday, May 23, 2008 at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN.
Edna was born on October 16, 1916 in Foster, Wisconsin, the daughter of Arthur and Elva
(Pehlke) Matz. She married Arvin Ziehlsdorff on September 1, 1940, at St. Peter's Church in Foster, Wisconsin.
Throughout the years, Edna worshipped and enjoyed Bible studies at several churches locally and in Minnesota including: Our Redeemer Lutheran, St. John's Lutheran, Hope Lutheran, and lastly, Oak Knoll. She enjoyed baking, fishing, playing games and cards, especially Bridge, crocheting afghans, spending time with her grandchildren, and volunteering at Sacred Heart Hospital and the Dove Center. |

Edna is survived by two daughters, Betty (Thomas G.) Olson (Bloomington, MN) and Alice (John) Speckien (Minnetonka, MN); four grandchildren, Thomas W. Olson, Jennifer Brunberg, Susan Olson, and Sarah (Christopher) Jewett; three great-grandchildren, Meghan Besse, Alexander Besse, and Connor Jewett; two bothers, Harold Matz (Eau Claire, WI) and Harlow Matz (Osseo, WI); and sister, Margaret Meyer (Menomonie, WI); and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arvin; and two brothers, Ellwyn Matz and Alfred Matz.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Hope Lutheran Church, 2226 Eddy Lane, Eau Claire, with Pastor Randy Olson officiating. Friends may call at the church Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and again at church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. A private family committal service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire.
