Virginia "Ginny" C. Bergerson ,87, of Eau Claire, died peacefully at Luther Hospital on Thursday, September 24, 2009. 
 
She was born October 9, 1921 in Colfax to Edwin and Julia (Larson) Gullickson. She was raised in Colfax where she worked in her uncle Barney's café and graduated from Colfax High School in 1939.

    
She then moved to Eau Claire and worked as a book keeper for the Metropolitan Store. On June 29, 1945 she married Percy (Bud) Bergerson at Grace Lutheran Church. Ginny and Bud lived in Eau Claire their entire married life. They were charter members of The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd where Ginny served as a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Ladies aid and various committees. She worked for many years at Wangens Paint and Flooring (Gambles). Ginny was an active member of UCT, ABWA, and the dancerines. She was known for her love of family and friends. She loved playing cards and slot machines, baking, sewing, crocheting, and ceramics. In later years, she and Bud enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their cottage on Lake Holcombe, winters in Mesa, and traveling. 
   

She is survived by two daughters: Kathy (Lon) Hansen of Waukesha and Jane (Jim) Hauger of Eau Claire: Three granddaughters: Kristi (Josh) LaPointe of Stoughton, Jill (Ryan) Modl and Jordyn Hauger of Eau Claire: three great-grandchildren: Oliver and Lilly LaPointe and Jack Modl: one sister: Elaine Hertzfeldt of Chippewa Falls: and two sister-in-laws: Florence Gullickson of Eau Claire, Helen Gullickson of Mesa, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews who always found time to visit her.
 
Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Percy, on April 7, 2008, and three brothers : Vernon, Merle, and Donald. 
 
Her family would like to thank the entire staff at the Heritage Assisted Living for all the loving care, friendship, and support that both Ginny and Bud received the last six years. They would also like to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. Mark Edstrom and the staff on the Neuro/Pediatric/Trauma floor of Luther Hospital .
 
Visitation will be Sunday September 27 from 2-5 PM at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire. Funeral Service will be Monday, September 28 at 11:00 AM at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1120 Cedar Street, Eau Claire with visitation one hour prior at church. Pastor Don Wisner will be officiating. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery. Family and friends may offer condolences online at www.fullerspeckien.com.
