He was born July 16, 1931 in Herman, Wisconsin to Lawrence and Bertha (Sarczyski) Brockman. He married Kay Joyce Kettula on June 22, 1957. Jim graduated in 1949 from Boys Tech High School in Milwaukee. He was drafted into the Marines in 1952, where he was a navigator. Jim spent his career in the meat packing industry, working first for Patrick Cudahy, then Klement's Sausage Company--where he retired as the Vice President of Engineering. Jim loved his family with all his heart and spent every spare moment he could laughing with and enjoying his wife and children and their families. Jim loved to spend time outdoors hunting, fishing, taking walks with his dog Bandit and enjoying God's creation. He also liked woodworking and traveling with his cousin Ron Navarre.

His love of laughter permeated everything he did, and he delighted in sharing a good joke with people wherever he went.

Jim will be missed by his family, friends, and acquaintances.

Jim is survived by his wife, Kay and their five children, Lynda (Tom) Smith of St. Francis, WI, Deanna (Leroy) Kolacinski of Burlington, WI, Lori Brockman of Oregon, Pennie (Mike) Bixler of Hudson, WI and David (Carrie) Brockman of Belgium, WI; grandchildren, Jacquilyn and Scotlyn Smith, Elizabeth Kolacinski, Rebecca Gallagher, Aaron and Bridgette Bixler and Hailey, Isaac, Abel and Lily Brockman.
