Joyce Elaine Davis (nee Olson) age 80,
passed away peacefully on the evening of January 4th. She was
preceded in death by her parents, George and Helen (nee Stewart)
Olson, sister, Phyllis, and brother, Robert Olson. She is survived
by her brothers (George Olson, Willis Olson, Donald Olson, Michael
Olson, and Richard Olson), daughters (Shelby Davis, Janet Riddle,
Helen Trandem), sons (Michael Davis, David Davis, Bruce Davis,
Randall Davis, and Joseph Davis), 20 grandchildren, and seven
great-grandchildren.

Joyce loved life, and took advantage of the adventures it offered. In her younger years, she enjoyed horseback riding, and was a charter member of the Eau Claire Ski Club. She enjoyed traveling, reading, fishing, opera, and a good joke. Her outgoing personality and sociability earned her new acquaintances nearly everywhere she went. She appreciated beauty and tried to capture it in her photography, oil paintings, mosaic pieces, and wood carvings, among other art endeavors, including freelance art work over the years.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 11 AM at Hope Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Pastor Randy Olson will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. There will be no public visitation prior to the service. Friends may offer condolences online at
