Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday February 14, 2009 at Lake Street United Methodist Church, 337 Lake Street, Eau Claire. Pastor Cathy L. Hamblin will officiate. American Legion Post #53 will conduct military honors at the church following the service. Visitation for Eugene will begin at the church Saturday morning an hour prior to services.
Red was born in Eau Claire, WI on December 22, 1920 to Halvor and Hazel Decker. He served in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He Married Gladys (Palmer) Decker in Eau Claire on November 8, 1941.
He is survived by his children Gene (Sue) Decker, Chippewa Falls, Robert (Jennifer) Decker, Carolyn (Larry) Bauer and Anthony Decker, all of Eau Claire, Raymond (Lori) Decker of Tomahawk, WI, and Susan (Al) Strasser of Wausau, WI, a brother, Raymond of Minneapolis, a sister,
Emogene, of Minneapolis; 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. |

He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys, his parents, sister Joy, brother Lawrence, and grandchildren Jeffrey and Christian.
Red was a golf professional at Eau Claire Country Club and later worked as a bartender, singer, and held a variety of sales positions.
He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and he loved all children. He loved singing and music, hunting and fishing, The Green Bay Packers, visits to the casino and his dog, "Pal" and cat "Punk'n".
Red will be sorely missed by his family and his second family at Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center.
