   Marcella (Marcie) Edith Sophie Fladten Hobbick Hawkinson.
 
Born Aug 26, 1932 to Rudolph Fladten and Ida Saxberg Fladten in Prairie Farm, Wisconsin, died Oct 30, 2009 of natural causes at her home.
 
Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 am Tuesday November 10, 2009 at Peace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire 501 E Fillmore Street, Eau Claire, WI 54701. Pastor Mark Schulz will officiate. Committal services will be Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 pm in the Akers Cemetery just west of Prairie Farm. Friends may call at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home on Monday evening from 4-6 pm and at the church Tuesday morning from 10 am until the time of services. 
   

Marcie graduated from Menomonie High School in 1950. She married Harold C Hobbick on Feb 2, 1951. They had a daughter Mary Enid, but the marriage later ended in divorce. 
 
She married Bruce E Hawkinson on Oct 26, 1963 and they moved to Eau Claire, they later divorced.
 
In 1960 Marcie responded to an ad in the Dunn County News asking for all persons interested in flying. She obtained her private pilot’s license and became a member of the Skyport Flying Club as well as making lifelong friends, most notably Bob and Betty Novotney, formerly of Menomonie and currently residing in Fairbanks, Alaska. 
 
Marcie and Betty drove from Eau Claire to Fairbanks around 1970 and drove the Alaskan Hwy which was quite a feat in those days.
 
Marcie also tubed down the Colorado River with her very good friend Mary Ellen in the 70’s.
 
Marcie was a very independent woman and worked for over 40 years as a cashier at Jameson and Company, later known as Piper Jaffray & Hopwood. After that, she worked for the Pleasant Company, another job she loved. 
 
Marcie loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and trout fisherman. In 1966 she purchased a deer hunting cabin near Spring Brook and spent most weekends and free time there. She continued going “to the cabin” up to the present time. 
 
Marcie had a God given talent for music. She could pick up most any instument and play it by ear. She loved the piano, accordian, banjo and guitar. She also learned to play the spoons from her brother Norman. 
 
“Grandma Marcie’s” greatest joy was her grandsons, Ryan and David. 
 
Marcie is survived by her daughter Mary Enid Fares, grandsons Ryan Fares and David Fares, her brother Robert Fladten(Lois), sisters, Gladys Goodell, Gloria Lorenz( Wayne), Hazel Trandum Benck(Larry) and Helen “Patsy” Peabody (Fred) numerous nieces , nephews and friends.
 
She was preceeded in death by her father Rudolph Fladten, mother Ida Saxberg Micheels, brothers Norman Fladten and Billy Micheels.
