Marilyn (Anderson) Heath, 83, formerly of Gwinner, ND, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Heritage Court Memory Care in Eau Claire, WI.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Gustaf Adolf Lutheran Church in Gwinner, ND, with Pastor Anda Wilhelm officiating. Burial will be at Dunbar Cemtery near Milnor, ND.
Marilyn Elouise Anderson, daughter of Leo and Ellen (Edd) Anderson was born on June 29, 1926 in Cogswell, North Dakota. She attended school in Gwinner, and was confirmed at Gustaf Adolf Lutheran Church, Gwinner. Marilyn lived and worked in California for several years during World War II.
She was united in marriage to Murray Heath on August 26, 1955. Together they owned and operated Heaths Cities Service gas station and garage in Gwinner. Marilyn worked for many years as the secretary of the Farmers Mutual Fire and Lightning Insurance Company of Sargent and Ransom Counties. After retiring in 1978, Marilyn and Murray moved to their lake home on Cormorant Lake near Lake Park MN. They spent the next 24 years enjoying their family, friends and hobbies. Marilyn was an avid bridge player and enjoyed knitting, sewing, and crocheting. She also loved working crossword puzzles. Her favorite hobby was feeding and watching birds. She recorded seeing over 40 different species of birds eating from the bird feeders outside her dining room window that she kept stocked year round. After Murray passed away in 2002, Marilyn moved to Golden Valley, Minnesota, and later to Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Marilyn was a long time member of the Gustaf Adolf Lutheran in Gwinner and Cormorant Lutheran Church near Lake Park.
Marilyn will be remembered and deeply missed by her children, Jay and Dianne Heath of Golden Valley, MN and Jan and Carrie Heath of Chippewa Falls, WI, and her grandchildren, Alex and Sarah Schmocker and Leo Heath, all of Chippewa Falls WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Ellen (Edd) Anderson, her sisters, Helen Anderson, Leonore Anderson and LaVerine (Anderson) Fujimoto, and a brother, Vernal Anderson.
