Lucille Hogstrom, 88, of Eau Claire passed away at home on Saturday, November 21, 2009.

Lucille was born on May 21, 1921 in New Richmond, WI, to Walter and Georgia (Whereatt) Hatch. She graduated from Ashland High School. After high school, she worked in Chicago for a couple of years. On December 4, 1943, she married Harley Hogstrom, the love of her life, in San Marcos, TX, while he was home on leave from the Army Air Corps. They moved to Eau Claire in 1947. During the following years she worked at the State Theater, Woolworth's and Fannie Farmer.

In later years she worked at Northwest Wisconsin Home Care. Lucille participated in many volunteer activities throughout the years. She was at Chippewa Valley Museum for 14 years. She also made quilts for Project Linus, afghans for the church, hand-made teddy bears to give to the Fire Department, and knit caps for deployed soldiers to wear under their helmets. She was an active member of Lake Street United Methodist Church for almost 60 years.

Lucille and Harley traveled for many years, and made many friends all across Wisconsin and the United States when Harley was involved with Masonic organizations. Family was always the most important thing in Lucille's life. She loved any occasion that allowed her to spend time with each and every one of them.
