Cynthia Jean Holdway of Eau Claire, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2009 at home.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Christ Church Cathedral, 510 S. Farwell Street, Eau Claire, WI 54701 with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Cynthia, the daughter of Orien and Rosemary Howard of Eau Claire was born on February 2, 1947 in Eau Claire. She grew up in San Jose, California and received her high school diploma from Pioneer High School in 1964. She later went on to Cabrillo College in Aptos, California to receive her RN degree in 1974. Cynthia excelled at nursing with capability, empathy and caring – working in both California and at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire until she became disabled several years ago.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother John L. Howard. She is survived by her son, James D. Holdway of Savannah, Georgia; two sisters, Pamela Navabpour (Russ) of San Juan Capistrano, CA and Deborah Howard-Ryburn (Scott) of Maplewood, MN; three nieces, Yasemin Herlihy (James) of Walpole, MA, Suzanne Coleman (Christopher) of Glenview, IL and Jennifer L. Howard of Los Gatos, CA; as well as several cousins and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Christ Church Cathedral, Eau Claire or the Wisconsin Humane Society, 4500 W. Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53208.
