Fern Margaret Keilholz, 88, of Eau Claire, died Sunday, March 29, 2009 at the Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona.

    
Fern was born November 10, 1920 to Fred and Leta (Lehman) Hasse in Menomonie, Wisconsin. She graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1939. Fern married Ervin Keilholz on May 25, 1946. Ervin passed away July 9, 1983.

Fern was a member of American Legion Post 53 Auxiliary, Wisconsin Indianhead Chapter American Ex-Prisoners of War, Inc., and the American Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor, Inc. 

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Daniel) Gunderson and son, Ron (Loann); grandchildren, Scott (Kristin) Gunderson, Heidi Keilholz (fiancé Jeff Dorn) and Jeffery (Amy) Gunderson; 5 great-grandchildren, Owen, Oliver, Bennett, Carson and Paige Gunderson; sister-in-law, Rosemary Hasse; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
   

Fern is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three brothers, Lyle, Joy, and Carl Hasse. 
 
Services for Fern will be on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 202 West Grand Avenue, Eau Claire, WI with Pastor Rolf Nestingen officiating. Friends and family may visit on Wednesday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire, and again on Thursday, at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
 
The family request memorials to Luther-Mayo Dialysis Unit and Grace Lutheran Church.
 
A special thanks to the staff at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona for the care and concern given to Fern during her stay. Thanks to Dr. Maierhofer and all of her other doctors, and the staff at Luther Mayo with the dialysis units in Eau Claire.
