   James A. Kent, age 58, passed away Monday, February 2, 2009, at home.
 
He was born on January 3, 1951, in Eau Claire to George B. and Dorothy M. (Broberg) Kent. He graduated from North High School in 1969 and earned an Associates Degree in drafting from what is now the Chippewa Valley Technical College.
 
He was married to Denise Anderson on April 19, 1975. To this union two lovely daughters were born, Leda in 1977 and Liza in 1979. Jim and Denise were divorced in 1983. Jim later married Suzanne Kinville on March 20, 1999. Jim worked for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation as an Engineering Technician Transportation Advanced. Over his career at the DOT he helped build many of the major roads and highways in the West Central Wisconsin area.
   

Jim enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Road King, warm weather pan fishing and ice fishing, long distance bicycling, woodworking, driving his Mustang, building model cars, and traveling to Mexico each year and visiting several of the western national parks with his wife Suzanne.
 
He is survived by his mother Dorothy of Eau Claire; wife Suzanne of Eau Claire; daughter Leda (Todd) Wagner of Wisconsin Dells; daughter Liza (Cory) Wall of Crater Lake, Oregon; sister Georgia (Gary) Janssen of Greenwood; sister Sue (Larry) Shipman of Eau Claire; brother Charles and his friend Betty of Eau Claire; and brother Roger (Cindy) of Cincinnati, Ohio; step-son Patrick Anderson of Lakeland, Florida; step-granddaughter Autumn Wagner of Wisconsin Dells; and step-granddaughter Jamie Anderson, Lakeland, Florida. He is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his father George.
 
Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Friday February 6, 2009 at Grace Lutheran Church, 202 W. Grand Avenue, Eau Claire. Pastor David Irgens will officiate. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington immediately following the services. Friends may call at the church Friday afternoon from 12:00 pm until the time of services.

Jim was loved by many and was a kind, quiet, and gentle man who will be greatly missed.
