Elaine Frances Kneer, age 91 of Eau Claire passed away Thursday evening April 9, 2009 at Wissota Transitions in Chippewa Falls. She died with the same grace and courage with which she lived and maintained her positive outlook and sense of humor up until the end.

    
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday April 15, 2009 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 310 Broadway Street, Eau Claire. The Rev. Dr. Mark X. Pirazzini will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire immediately following the service. Friends may call at the church Wednesday morning from 10:30 am until the time of services.
 
Elaine attended schools in Eau Claire area graduating from Eau Claire High School in 1935. Elaine was an accomplished pianist and vocalist. She shared her talents through the years with her husband, Frank, singing in the First Congregational Church Choir in Eau Claire. She lived in Detroit, MI, Rockford, IL, and Park Falls, WI. While in Park Falls, she accompanied the school's concerts for several years.
   

Elaine was born July 13, 1917 in Eau Claire, WI to Vertie and Ruth (Palmer) Elliott. On June 8, 1940, she married Frank Howard Kneer. She is survived by two children; David (Janice) Kneer, Eau Claire, and Janice (Ron) Nyhus, Chippewa Falls; four grandchildren, Leigh (Polly) Kneer, Lawrenceville, GA, Melanie (Michael) Peterson, Eden Prairie, MN, Eric (Kristine) Nyhus, Chippewa Falls, and Käryn Nyhus (special friend, Brian) Eau Claire; two great grandchildren, Jonathan and Elaine Kneer; a sister-in-law, Kathryn Elliott, and a brother-in-law, Tom (Marie) Kneer both of Eau Claire and many nieces and nephews.
 
Her husband, Frank Kneer; her parents, Ruth and Vertie Elliott; her brother, Lyman Elliott; her sister, Jean Kazebee; and her niece, Diane Kazebee, preceded her in death.
 
Memorials may be given in Elaine's name to First Congregational United Church of Christ or to a charity of the donor's choice.
