Vernice and husband, "Tony", enjoyed traveling the country to attend his Naval Service Reunions and Vernice continued to do this following Tony's death.
Vernice suffered from crippling rheumatoid arthritis most of her life, but very proudly lived independently until just three years ago.
Vernice is survived by sister-in-laws, Theodora "Honey" Outzen and Marilyn (Elmer) Loechler, a brother-in-law, Earl Mosel; nieces, Shirley Mittlestadt, Marjorie "Tootie" (Richard) Smasal, Carol Mittlestadt, Laurie Ince, Sue (Joe) Stivers, Judy (Frank) Ballentine, Nancy (Skip) Northcross, Andrea (Alvin) Mello, Karen Wernimont, DeeAnn (Ron) Hart; nephews, Paul Brunkow, Jeff Lemke, Mike (Nancy) Dunn, Bruce Outzen, John Outzen, Philip (Carol) Mosel, Jim (Nancy) Mosel, Tim (Sandy) Mosel, Rick (Rose) Loechler; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Lemke, parents, brother, Elmer Foslid, sister, Borgie Sinz, twin brother, Vernon Foslid; nephew, Lyle Brunkow; sister-in-laws, Betty Mosel, Hollyce Dunn, Ruth Lemke; brother-in-laws, Owen Lemke, Harold Outzen.
A funeral service for Vernice will be at 11:00 am. on Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1804 Highland Avenue, Eau Claire, with Pastor Nate Aaseng officiating. Friends may call at church one hour prior to service. A committal service will be held at 11:00 am. on Saturday, May 16, 2009, at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Eau Claire.
