Viola L. Meyer of Elk Mound died Friday, October 9, 2009. She was born in Albertville on May 7, 1923, the daughter of Alfred Kackman and Olga Holm Kackman. She married LaVerne Meyer on May 25, 1946 at the Little Brown church in Nausha, Iowa. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Elk Mound.
 
Viola is survived by: her son, Larry Meyer; daughters, Lynn (Duane) Lindh, Susan (Phil) Spencer and Kathy (Bob) Kochendorfer; eight grandchildren, Kevin (Jen) Meyer, Dale (Ellie) Lindh, Amy (Tim) Lyga, Karen Spencer, Jim Spencer, Andy (Mary) Kochendorfer, Beth (Marcus) Severson and Keri (Tony) Fitts; and nine great grandchildren, Ty and Hailey Meyer, Drew, Cloe and Davin Lindh, Emily and Kaylie Lyga, Alexa Severson and Aidan Fitts. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, LaVerne Meyer in 2004 and an infant sister and an infant grandson.
 
Services for Viola will be on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 105 S. Holly Avenue, Elk Mound with Pastor Margaret DeMaris officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Elk Mound immediately following the service. A public viewing with be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.
