Milton F. Moen, Sr.


		Milton F. Moen, Sr., age 88 of Eau Claire passed away Thursday morning March 5, 2009 at the Colfax Health and Rehabilitation Center in Colfax. Funeral Services for Milton will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3715 London Road, Eau Claire. Pastor Frederick W. Theiste will be officiating. Burial will be in Brunswick Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one-hour prior to service Thursday morning. Milton was born June 10, 1920. The son of Martin and Mina (Johnson) Moen in Strum, WI. He married Verma Stevens November 5, 1938 in The Eleva Lutheran Church Parsonage. He worked at Peters Packing in Chippewa Falls, UW Eau Claire Janitorial (Hilltop) and Family Farms Inc. Milt was a long time member of Concordia Lutheran Church.


He is survived by daughters, Shelby Ottinger of Eau Claire, Virginia (Duane) Harris of Eau Claire, Anne (Bob) Traaseth of Eleva, Deb (Jim) Helwig of Eau Claire, two sons, Milton Jr. (Lois) Moen and Vern (Sharon) Moen both of Eau Claire. 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, three sister-in-laws, three brother-in-laws, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Verma, his parents, four brothers, Richard, Norman, Joseph, and Goodwin, and one sister Margaret. Milt enjoyed camping, gardening, growing a large garden and spending time with his family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Milt's name to Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3715 London Road, Eau Claire, WI 54701.
