Betty was an excellent cook and loved to entertain both at home and at their cabin on Pulaski Lake. Betty was always willing and there to bring a dish to pass to someone sick or in need. Betty loved to knit, dance, play bridge, was an active and a life long member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Women's Club, and a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. She is best known as "Grandma Betty". She always looked forward to seeing and caring for her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Betty and Earl also enjoyed their retirement years traveling and wintering in Texas.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband Earl and three sons, Philip (Carol), Jim (Nancy) and Tim (Sandy) Mosel, all of Eau Claire; seven grandchildren, Lori (Ed) Hendricks, DeeAnn (Ryan) Thompson, Bucky (Shantel), Joe (Jennifer), Joshua (Johannah), Kari and Tony Mosel, 12 great- grandchildren; Garrett, Sydney and Kennedy Hendricks, Brady, Tessa and Landon Thompson. Brody, Blake, J.R., Giselle, August, and Adelaide Mosel. Betty is also survived by two sisters, Marilyn (Elmer) Loechler of WI Rapids and Theorda "Honey" Outzen of Sun City, AZ; three sister-in-laws, Vernice Lemke, Marjorie Schroeder and Marilyn Potter all of Eau Claire and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Owen and Tony Lemke, sister, Hollyce Dunn, a grandson, Eric Mosel and her brother and sister in-laws.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 23, 2009 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1804 Highland Ave., Eau Claire. Family and friends may call from 9 am until the time of services at the church.
Betty's family would like to thank the Syverson Lutheran Home and Linda Langer and other Northwest Hospice staff members for the wonderful and loving care she received.
