Gladys L. Olson, 94, of Eau Claire was carried home to glory on Saturday, July 18, 2009, at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home surrounded by her loving children. She was born Nov. 29, 1914. Gladys married Carey M. Olson in Eleva, WI on May 25, 1935.

After marriage she made her home in Eau Claire and stayed at home to raise her family. Later she worked a number of years at Nat'l Presto Ind. and Mt. Washington School.

She was a wonderful & loving mother who was always most content when her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were with her. Being the youngest of 12 children she was the favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed many years with family and friends at the beautiful cottage she and her husband Carey built on Sand Lake. She was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church, the women's organization and the Peace Circle. Many fun-filled years were also spent with long-time neighborhood friends in a "knitting club". Another favorite pastime was dancing with friends at the Moose Lodge.

Gladys is survived by her 5 Children, Bonnie (Hugh) McDermott , Rice Lake, Anita (Chuck) Hildebrandt, Eau Claire, Curtis (Anita) Olson, Plano, TX, Cindy (Harvey) Neu, Germantown, Roland Olson, Altoona; her grandchildren, Chari (Paul) Seebruck, Chris (Cathy) Mayer, Teresa (Joel) Lockbaum, Paul (Brenda) McDermott, Shannon (Dave) Dushek, Cristin (Kevin) Fronk, Craig (Jill) Olson, Nicole (Daniel) Davis, and Michelle Neu; and 16 Great-Grandchildren.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carey M. Olson; her 4 sisters: Clara Tollefson, Agnes Engen, Hazel Bolender DuMez, Mabel Lokken; and her 7 brothers: Arthur, Nordahl, Ernest, Truman, Vernal, Clarence, & Lawrence Lokken
