Helen (Lil) Simpson, 86, passed away December 4th, 2009 at Luther Hospital from complications of lung cancer.

She was born October 29th, 1923 in Chicago IL. She married William (Bill) Simpson on April 8, 1943, in Garden City Kansas. They later moved to Chicago IL, eventually settling in Wildwood, IL where they lived for over 40 years. Lil worked as a nurse at Condell Hospital in Libertyville, Il for 20 years. She enjoyed the family vacation home in Hayward WI where she spent many happy summers with her family and friends.
She is survived by her 3 children, Bill, of Santa Monica CA, Linda Jacknow of Roselle IL, and Nancy (Lee) Skelley of Eau Claire WI, and grandchildren Vikki, Brandi, and Josh
(Kerrri) Jacknow, and Kyle(Erika) Skelley, Samantha(Phil) Derouin, and Dustin
Skelley. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren, Sydney
Jacknow, Isabella Jacknow, and Tucker Derouin, and her sisters Mary Frank and Neenah Moeller, all of whom she loved very much. |

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and her sister Olga Van Atta.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and she will be missed by many.
A private family memorial is planned for a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Chippewa Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation facility, where she received great care and comfort in her final days. Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire WI is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. |
