Alice Sires, age 89 of Eau Claire, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Luther Hospital with family by her side.
Alice was born on November 17, 1919, in Hale, Wisconsin, the daughter of Jacob and (Hannah Pederson)
Engevold. She married Elton Bergeson from Colfax, Wisconsin and together they raised five children. She then married Lee Sires from Altoona, Wisconsin.
She enjoyed Bible reading, teaching Sunday School, eating out, and shopping. Most of all, she cherished her time visiting family and friends. Alice volunteered many years at the Fall Creek Nursing Home.
Alice is survived by her son, Elton (Janet) Bergeson; daughters, Ruth (Roger) Casper, Rachel
Nawrocki, and Mona (Ralph) Haugen; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. |

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elton; husband, Lee; and son, Dellano; and grandson, Steve Nawrocki.
A funeral service for Alice Sires will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1314 E. Lexington Blvd, Eau Claire, with Pastor Heather Wigdahl officiating. Friends may call at church from 9:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire.
