Erma Sturz, age 86, of Eau Claire, passed away
Tuesday afternoon, February 3, 2009 at the Oakwood Villa Nursing
Home in Altoona. She went to her eternal home to be with her Lord
and Savior.
Erma was born to Hans and Marie (Thompson) Larson on August 30, 1922 in the township of Rock Creek, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant brother, and brothers, Leslie, Everett and Donald Larson.
Erma is survived by: daughter, Marita (Ronald) Halama of rural Independence, WI; daughter, Sandra (Wayne) Mielke of Eau Claire, WI; five grandchildren: Andrew
Halama, Sara Halama, Steven (Amy) Mielke, Bethany (Adam) Gamble, and Daniel
(Alisha) Mielke; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Jean) Larson of Henderson, Nevada; sisters-in-law, Rose Larson of rural Rock Falls, WI and Zelda Larson of Buffalo City, WI, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. |

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, WI. She taught mathematics for 35 years at Durand High School from 1949 to 1984. Previously, she taught 2 or 3 years in Glen Flora and Sparta, WI, then she enjoyed a full and wonderful retirement for 24 years.
She lived in rural Rock Falls, WI from her birth to 1985 when she moved to Eau Claire, WI when she became a member of the family of Trinity Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, WI.
Services will be Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road in Eau Claire, WI. Pastor Heather Wigdahl will be officiating. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home on Friday, February 6, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again, on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services. There will be a private family burial at Rock Creek Cemetery. Memorials appreciated to the donor’s choice.
