Lloyd was born at the family farm in the township of Lincoln (Cream, WI) November 12, 1920, third child and only son of Alfred and Sarah (Brinkman)
Haigh. Lloyd took Ida Comero to be his wife September 20, 1947 and together they took over the family farm building it into the successful purebred dairy farm of Honeyvale Holstein Farm. In 1971 the family moved to Eau Claire where he found employment with Midelfort Clinic until his retirement.
Above all else Lloyd was an avid reader, known to be reading several books at a time as his thirst for knowledge was never quite satisfied. He also enjoyed writing and would journal his days for many years prompting him to write and publish the book "Lloyd's Ramblings". |

Lloyd also enjoyed listening to or playing music. Taking lessons from other musicians he then self taught himself on several instruments. He often played piano or guitar for the 4-H sing-along, and later in life entertained with his violin, accordion, mandolin, guitar and harmonica with the L.E. Phillips Senior Center groups. He especially enjoyed all those activities offered by the Senior Center, and card playing and pool games became the focal center of his social life.
Another passion was watching sports whether it was the Packers, Brewers, golf or bowling. Not content to sit on the sidelines, he took up swimming, tennis, golf and league bowled for Gutch's and Wally's Chalet.
Lloyd took pride in delivering Meals on Wheels for over 20 years and his volunteer activities at Sacred Heart and Luther Hospitals. Even if you didn't actually meet Lloyd, you probably saw the white haired man as he either bicycled or walked these city streets for the past forty years. He made the most of this city's bounty.
He is survived by his son, Dale (Linda) Haigh; daughters, Barb (Ron) Amlotte, Marjorie Roberts (friend Ron Parker) and June (Greg) Haigh-Boley; granddaughters, Jackie Amlotte and Angie (Craig) Tauscher; great-granddaughters, Anna and Sophia Tauscher; sister-in-law Violet Comero; brothers-in-law, Lester Plank and Jesse (LaVonne) Comero and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ida; in-laws, William and Emma Comero; sisters, Wilma, Viola and Florence Haigh; brothers-in-law, Norman, Jerome and Clayton Comero and sisters-in-law, Sarah Comero, Erna Comero and Adeline Plank.
Funeral Services will take place at 1 pm on Thursday September 2, 2010 at the Montana Methodist Church in the Montana Township, Buffalo County, WI. Pastor Thomas Elliot will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery immediately following the service.
