Arlene Marian Hardy, age 86, of Altoona
died early Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Oakwood Villa in
Altoona. She was born on February 3, 1924 to Alfred and Cora
(Albertson) Ausen in Buffalo County, WI. On October 28, 1939 she
married Gene Hardy at Trinity of Norden Church in Mondovi, WI.
They farmed in the Norden area, Drammen area and Pabst Farms in
Oconomowoc, WI prior to moving to Strum, WI where they farmed
until 1976 when they moved to Eau Claire. In later years she
enjoyed traveling to various places with friends and family and
also enjoyed wonderful afternoons playing Scrabble.

She is survived by children, Allen (Kay) Hardy of Strum, WI and Shelby (Larry) Christenson of
Eleva, WI; grandchildren, Tamara Hardy of Shoreview, MN, Roy (Tina) Hardy of Cadott, WI, Theresa (Lowell) Topper of Durand, WI and Travis (Jennifer) Christenson of Eau Claire, WI; great-grandchildren. Mikayla Hardy, Dalton Hardy, Dallas Topper, Alyssa Topper, Scott Andersen, Tyler Christenson and Brianna
Christenson; sister, Lillian Books of Eau Claire, WI; sister-in-law, Sharon Davis of Minneapolis, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Gerald Hardy; husband, Gene Hardy; parents, Alfred and Cora
Ausen; brother, Orville (Vira) Ausen; sister, Sevilla (Cecil) Johnson and brother-in-law, Ray Books. |

Visitation will be Monday February 22 from 4-7 PM at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road Eau Claire, WI 54701. Funeral Service will be Tuesday February 23 at 11 AM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 601 Fall St. Eau Claire, WI 54703 with visitation one hour prior at church. Pastor Carlton Kangas will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery in Mondovi, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred. Friends may offer online condolences at www.fullerspeckien.com.
