John "Jack" R. Hilmanowski, 76, passed Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Luther Hospital from complication of pneumonia. His family was at his side and will miss him very much.

He was born February 19, 1933 in Dunn County to Henry and RiEtta (Hardy) Hilmanowski. He married Jean Marie (Wood) Stevens June 23, 1955 in Menomonie, Wisconsin. He worked at Uniroyal until his retirement when the plant closed in Eau Claire. He cared for his beloved wife when she became terminally ill with cancer.

He loved to fish and hunt, play cards and attend family gatherings as well as have a beer with his friends at the local pub. He was a Packer Fan and seldom missed a game. We know he will be watching the play-off game from a higher seat this Sunday and wouldn't have missed it for anything.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Marie; his mother and father; 2 brothers, Gerald "Jerry" and Robert "Bob" and his sister, Violet "Vi."

He is survived by his daughter, Lila Chamberlain; son, Ron (Nancy); 5 grandchildren, Jon (Gail) Chamberlain and Karanda Chamberlain, Gina, Kara and Jeff Hilmanowski; 3 great-grandchildren, Tylor, Samantha and Jean Marie Chamberlain. He is also survived by 4 sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews.

He will be missed by his family and friends and his special friend, Beatrice Peterson and long time friend, Dale Ruppelt who both spent many hours visiting with him in his last years at the nursing home. A special thank you to The Clairemont Central Nursing Staff for their loving care and devotion.
