Larry Richard Lee, 59, passed away unexpectedly at home Saturday, June 19, 2010.

"Muskie Lar" was renowned for his fishing talents, from Mexico to Northern Wisconsin. His greatest passions were muskie fishing and playing guitar, specifically the blues.

Larry was born Jan. 16, 1951 in Eau Claire to Richard and Lorrayne (Weber) Lee. He had one brother, David, who passed away in 1973.

Larry was employed at Countertops Inc. in Eau Claire. He worked in the solid surface department and was known for his hard work and dedication to his craft. He also worked for over 25 years in the Spooner and Rice Lake area.

Larry is survived by a son, Matthew Lee of Spooner; a stepdaughter, Jennifer (Luke) Walta of Eau Claire; his uncles, Don (Bev) Weber and Tom (Colleen) Weber of Eau Claire; and his great-aunt, June.

He leaves behind his partner, Lorrinda Benavides; his buddies and all his friends who shared his passion for muskies, baits and the blues. Larry's quick wit and fabulous sense of humor will be missed greatly.

Rich and Larry made handmade muskie baits for years that dazzled and landed many a trophy muskie. He was quick-witted and had a marvelous sense of humor. John, Larry always said, "you need to learn how to cast!"

Larry is preceded in death by his beloved brother, David; his father, Richard; and his mother, Lorrayne (Weber) Lee; and his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire, WI, Thursday, June 24, at 6 p.m.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at 6 p.m. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at Lakeview Cemetery.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid sideways, muskie rod in one hand, beer in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "Woo Hoo, what a ride!"

Larry, we love you and will miss you forever. I'll meet you on the other side of the bridge. Sleep well, my friend.

Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home is assisting the family. Friends may offer online condolences at www.fullerspeckienhulke.com.
