Ken enjoyed playing golf and basketball, travelling, spending time with his family, and relaxing at the family cottage in northern Wisconsin. He was a caring husband and a loving, gentle father who cherished his children. A dedicated and attentive dad, he was always available for advice, willing to lend a hand, and a hug to let you know he loved you. He treasured his time as a grandpa, reading books, playing ball, taking walks, and kissing his grandchildren goodnight. Always showing interest in others, he would strike up a conversation with anyone, and could initiate a lasting friendship during a brief plane flight.
He had a heart for helping others. Ken spent many years volunteering as a grade school football and basketball coach and for the EC Regis Booster Club. After retirement, Ken spent time as a mentor with the UWEC Entrepreneur program and volunteering at the UWEC Career Services as well as the Salvation Army.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Emily McAdams and brother-in-law, Michael Prissel. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his children Ryan (Audrey) McAdams, Carrie (Jaideep) Joshi, and Sean (fiancée Alison) McAdams; grandchildren, Kiran, Mira, and Raina Joshi, and Moriah McAdams; brothers, Gilbert (Peggy) and Bruce McAdams; mother and father-in-law, Rosemary and Ray Prissel; sisters-in-law, Patti (Gary) Imbery, Sue (Mark) Tomasi, and Mikki (Bret) Showers; nieces and nephews.
Ken's family would like to extend our thanks to the entire staff at Luther Hospital CCU for their professional, compassionate and personal care of our husband, father, grandfather and friend. It was appreciated beyond words. The family would also like to thank Dr. Stephen Rogers and Dr. Timothy Whelan for their constant support and care.
