Ruth was born May 26th, 1924 in Los Angeles, CA. She lived in CA, AZ, and Eau Claire. During WWII, she worked at Lockheed as a riveter on aircraft. She was also the first woman salesperson for Johnson Cookie Company in WI. She retired from Sentry Insurance in Scottsdale, AZ then began her quest to become a clown. She attended professional clown school, became a member of Clowns of America International and the Western Region Clown Association, and joined the Carson Clowners in Carson City, CA. She became known as Sparkle the Clown. Clowning became her passion as she entertained at many parties, schools, parades, and various events. She went many times to the Western Regional Clown Convention in Laughlin, NV with her fellow clowners. She loved to see smiles on the little children as well as adults. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh and tell or hear a good joke. We know that she will be making balloon animals, doing magic tricks, and bringing smiles to all those who enter the pearly gates.
She was a very genuine and energetic person. She was full of life with a great spirit and soul. She loved animals, rescuing many stray and lost dogs when living in Long Beach. She became quite a Packer fan, seldom missing a game. She also loved to travel, watch and listen to Elvis, take pictures, go to the movies, and, most especially, be with family and friends.
