Gertrude E. "Trudy" (Sponholz) Ponik of Eau Claire went to her eternal rest with her Lord Sunday January 10, 2010 at the age of 82.
Trudy was born in Milwaukee on June 12, 1927. She is preceded in death by parents Paul and Francis Nielsen, husbands Raymond Sponholz and Gilbert
Ponik, brothers Richard and Robert Nielsen.
She is survived by sons Scott (Anita), Craig (Dennis), Brad (Joni)

Stelling, Maria Sponholz (Tony), Brianna and Shawn Benson, Jessie, Olivia and Jack
Sponholz, sister Louise Pflughoeft and Kathy (Werner) Roesselet, sisters-in-law Elaine Nielsen and Jackie Nielsen, and brother-in-law Martin (Nancy)

Funeral Services will be at 12:00 pm (noon) on Thursday January 14, 2010 at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3307 State Street, Eau Claire, WI 54701. Pastor Aaron Mueller will officiate. Friends may call at the church Thursday morning from 10 am until the time of services. A lunch will be served immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
According to her wishes she will be cremated with burial in Graceland Cemetery in Milwaukee at a later date.
