Alice (Butenas) Stacey, 92, of Eau Claire, passed away on Saturday August 7, 2010, at Harbor House surrounded by her family.
Graveside Service will be at 11am on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire. Rev. Robb McClintock will be officiating the committal prayers.
She was born in Detroit, Mich. On May 13, 1918 and is the daughter of John and Jennie. Alice married Albert Stacey on Dec. 27, 1941 at St. Martha-Mary Chapel in Dearborn, Mich. She attended Wayne State University and had an interest in Library Science. Alice was a secretary at various companies but most enjoyed working for the Dean of Students at Mercy College in Detroit, Mich. |

She was a member of a Lithuanian sorority and was acknowledged by the Cancer Society for her many hours of dedicated service. She also received an award for her volunteer work from the United Ostomy Association. Alice created a women's investment club in Detroit, and enjoyed bowling. She attended many tournaments throughout the country. Alice liked creating needle-work and was a very loving mother and grandmother. She cherished being with her family, and always made them a priority. She had a great sense of humor and always tried to make others smile.
She is survived by her two children, Kenneth (Judith) Stacey of Surprise, Ariz., and Kathleen (Tom) Hanrath of Altoona, Wis; and five grandchildren, Lara Sellars, Joshua Stacey, and Kalyn, Mathew, and Megan Hanrath.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and siblings, Frances, Clarence, and Bill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Alice's name to the Alzheimer's Association. Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Friends may offer online condolences at www.fullerspeckienhulke.com.
