Virginia was born September 2, 1918 in Eau Claire, WI to George and Lyle (Lewis) Miley. She attended Eau Claire Schools. Virginia was united in marriage to Joseph Stringer in 1938 in Eau Claire. They were married for 52 years. Joe preceded her in death in April of 1990.

Throughout her life Ginny had many jobs. During the war she worked at Presto and U. S. Rubber. She was a waitress at several different businesses in the downtown area. She also worked at several grocery stores. The job she enjoyed most was working as a cashier for 35 years at Kerms Super Value and then Kerms on Water Street.

Ginny loved her home. She was an avid Packer fan and she liked to cook and bake, work outside planting flowers and watching birds. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards, bowling, playing cribbage, golf and farkeling (a dice game). In 1971, she had a hole-in-one.

We will always remember the values and love she gave to us. She was not just our mother but our friend. We know that everyone will miss her laughter and Irish sense of humor. God be with you till we meet again, Mom.

Virginia is survived by her Son, Robert (Darlene) of Braselton, GA , Daughters Judith (Al) Dunlap of Ocala, FL, Jane Stringer of Eau Claire, Grandson David Stringer (Kathy) of Dacula, GA, Great Granddaughters Alissa and Kaitlin Stringer of Dacula, GA, Juliana Kilcoyne of Stillwater, MN, Sister-in-laws Joan Miley of Chippewa Falls and Vickie Woodford of Eau Claire.
