Viola M. (Nelson) Torpen, age 81, of Eau Claire died on May 10, 2010 at Grace Woodlands. She was born on October 16, 1928 in Eau Claire to parents, Severt and Bertha
(Scharlau) Nelson. She grew up in the Eau Claire/Colfax area. On February 4, 1950 she married James Torpen in Eau Claire.

Klukas; grandson, Chad Torpen; 2 brothers-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law. Viola is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jim; children, Ruby (Royce Nelson)

She enjoyed camping and traveling, gardening, fishing, painting, knitting and crocheting, dancing, babysitting, crafts, spending time with her family and church. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral Service will be Friday May 14 at 1:00 PM at Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3715 London Road, Eau Claire. Pastor Frederick Thieste will officiate. Visitation will start at 11:00 AM at church on Friday. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery. Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road Eau Claire, WI 54701 is assisting the family.
