Veryl E. Vik age 72 of Eau Claire, died
Thursday, February 25, 2010 of cancer at Dove Healthcare Center in
Eau Claire, WI.

Veryl was born on June 27, 1937 to Herald and Clara
(Erickson) Vik in Breckenridge, MN. He grew up in North Dakota,
the majority of the time living in Fargo. He joined the United
Sates Navy in 1954 after which he worked in sales at Sears Roebuck
in Fargo. Veryl married his best friend, Bonnie Scheller in 1961.
In 1972, they moved to Eau Claire where he purchased his own
Drywall Business, Vik's Drywall & Texturing. In 1984, Veryl
and Bonnie started dispatching for The Township Fire Department at
that same time he returned to his favorite vocation, Sales. He
went to work selling franchises for ABC Seamless Siding in Fargo.
After experiencing heart problems Veryl was granted a heart
transplant in 1992 at the University of Minnesota. He was an avid
hunter for many years and enjoyed working on cars. His favorite
pastime, however, was spending time with his family and meeting,
talking to, and helping other people. |

Veryl is survived by his wife of 48 years, Bonnie, three daughters, Amy Vik, Stephanie Priest, and Denise Vik, one granddaughter, Sharon Priest, one great granddaughter, Faith Jerding, one sister, Verona Nelson of Indiana, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Memorial services will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Chapel Heights United Methodist Church, 300 E. Hamilton Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54701. The Rev. Jim McKay will officiate. A Luncheon will be served at the church immediately following the services. Visitation will take place on Monday evening, March 1, 2010 from 5-8 pm at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire, WI 54701 and Tuesday morning at the church one hour prior to services.
