Susan Leah Anderson, 66, passed away
peacefully Saturday morning, July 23rd. She was born April 17th,
1945 in Eau Claire to William Victor and Leah (Wald) Anderson.

She attended Randall grade school where her father was principal
for 40 years. In 1963, she graduated from Memorial High School
following which she attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire
and the University of Illinois-Champaign, Urbana for a BA in teaching
and further education.
Upon graduating, she taught high school English and French in
Marionette, Wisconsin. Returning to Eau Claire, she worked as a
substitute teacher. Later, she served as a tutor for Literacy
Volunteers of America and was awarded National Literacy Teacher of the
Year. |

Susan was an artist and linguist, who mastered many mediums, particularly Rosemaling. She also loved traveling around the world, collecting music and Christmas ornaments, discussing politics, and driving fast cars.
Susan is survived by her brother, Peter W. Anderson (Layne) from California; uncle, Luther Anderson (Michigan); cousins, Jane Hathaway (Eau Claire), Mary Schoenknecht (Rev. Robert) (Eau Claire), John Alseth (California), Dick Alseth (Michigan), Wayne Anderson (California),
Fred, Bill and Betty Bartko, Robert Skar, Jean Olund and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her aunt and uncle, Margaret and Ade Olson.
Memorial services to celebrate her life will be at 3 pm on Wednesday July 27, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1314 Lexington Blvd., Eau Claire, WI 54701 (near the intersection of Rudolph Road and Clairemont Avenue). The Rev. Robert Schoenknecht will officiate. Visitation will be at the church 30 minutes prior to the service. A reception will follow the service.
The family would like to give their sincere thanks to her many devoted and loving friends and caregivers. And to the doctors and staffs of the Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center and the Luther Midlefort Hospital for their tender care and support.
