Edna Mae (Loomis) Engebretson, 98, died on February 3, 2011 at St. Benedict's Senior Community in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
 
Edna was born in Gilmanton, Wisconsin on April 20, 1912 and graduated from Independence High School in 1930. She began a 75-year residency in Eau Claire later that year when she entered nurses training at Sacred Heart Hospital. Edna received her Registered Nurse accreditation in 1933. After a long courtship, Edna married Herman Engebretson in May 1936 and was blessed with 63 years of joyous marriage until Herman's death in 1999.
 

   Until her retirement in 1976, Edna practiced nursing at Sacred Heart Hospital, the Eau Claire Manor Nursing Home, and Mt. Washington Nursing Home. She and her husband were active and devoted members of First Lutheran Church for over 60 years. Edna was active participant for many years in the Church's Love Circle group. Edna was an avid bridge player and golfing enthusiast. She won a number of championship trophies at Hillcrest and Lowes Creek/Pine Meadows Golf Clubs. Edna played her last round at Pine Meadows in 2005 at age 93, capping off her golfing life with a par on the last hole. Edna took great pleasure in spoiling her family throughout the years with glorious home-cooking including the best pies imaginable.
   

Edna is survived by three children: John (Senie) Engebretson of Livonia, Michigan; Mary (Allan) Andreotti of St. Cloud, Minnesota; and James (Elizabeth) Engebretson of Scottsdale, Arizona. She also leaves nine grandchildren, a step-granddaughter and twenty great-grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband Herman; parents, Dallie and Laura (Severson) Loomis; her daughter Susan BaDour; her sisters Ruby, Audrey, Laura and Ruth; and her brothers Henry, Russell, Lawrence, Floyd, Dutee, Robert, and Donald.
 
Services celebrating Edna's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the First Lutheran Church Chapel with Reverend Scott Miller officiating. Private family interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery immediately following the service. Friends may call an hour before services at the church chapel.
