   Marguerite "Maggie" S. Flowers, age 86, of Eau Claire, WI, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Mayo Clinic Health System- Eau Claire following an accidental injury.
 
She was born February 19, 1925 in Cable, WI, to August and Johanne Rasmussen, the youngest of nine children. Her parents and eldest sister, Dagmar, emigrated from Denmark in 1907 and settled on the farm in Cable where the other children were born.
 
Marguerite "Maggie" was married to Norman Danielson in 1943 (divorced 1958), Orv Hendrickson in 1959 (divorced 1972) and Donald Flowers in 1973. Donald and Maggie were high school sweethearts who reunited later in life and were inseparable for 38 years of marriage.
   

She is survived by daughter Deanna Danielson, sons Norman Danielson, Steven (Eileen Black) Danielson, Kelly Hendrickson, Donald's sons from a previous marriage Donald (Kathy) Flowers, Dean (Marilyn Flowers and Robert (Dale Graf) Flowers, 22 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, sister Audrey Engle, brothers Andry and Gilbert Rasmussen and many nieces and nephews, most of which live in the Cable and Hayward area.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents August and Johanne Rasmussen, daughter Susanne Danielson, brothers Svend, Carl and Hans Rasmussen, sisters Dagmar Henriksen and Lillian Morgensen. Brothers in law Hagbart Henriksen, Elmer Morgensen, Robert Engle, sisters in law Olivia, Elva, Gladys, Letha and Alice Rasmussen.
 
Maggie collected Danish porcelain, dolls, Christmas decorations and other lovely collectibles. She loved to shop and socialize in the process. She was a skilled seamstress, wonderful cook and hostess, an avid reader and industrious worker. She invested enormous effort and precision in what she did, making family events extra special and giving people a feeling of deep love and appreciation. She was a "young" 86, with a remarkable zest for life. She was full of energy, opinions, curiosity and wisdom. A strong matriarch, she provided valuable help and counsel to her children and extended family. She was a very intelligent, capable woman who, in another era, may have pursued a career as a writer, engineer or teacher.
 
A service of remembrance will take place at 3 pm on Saturday June 25, 2011 at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire, WI 54701. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 pm until the time of services. Committal services will take place at 1 pm on Tuesday June 28, 2011 at the Wisconsin Memorial Park Cemetery in Brookfield, WI. Friends may offer condolences online at www.fullerspeckienhulke.com.
