Lorena Helen (Wathke) Kohnke, age 90
went to Our Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at
Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at
St. John's Lutheran Church, 1804 Highland Ave., Eau Claire, with
Pastor Nate Aaseng officiating.
Visitation will be 1 hr. prior to services at the church on
Thursday.
A luncheon will be at the church immediately following the
services.
Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington at
3:15 p.m. |

Lorena was born on May 10, 1921 in Fall Creek, Wis., to
the late Rhienherdt and Wilhelmina (Rau) Wathke. She was the second
youngest of 6 children.
She married Lawrence Kohnke on March 16, 1941 and enjoyed 61 yrs of
marriage together. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2002.
Her hobbies included gardening and working in her yard, crocheting,
embroidering and traveling in her younger days with her late husband.
She was an active person up to the day she died. Lorena was there for
anyone at anytime and she was most proud of being a homemaker.
Survivors include three children; Larry (Kitty), Phoenix, Ariz, Jean
(Tim) Lanctoe, Martinez, Calif. and Sandy Olson, Eau Claire., Wis.; 6
grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Further survived by other relatives and friends.
Lorena is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lawrence, four
sisters, one brother and her son in law Gary Olson.
