Audrey E. (Taterka) Matrejek, 90, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin died peacefully on May 29, 2011 at Dove Healthcare West in Eau Claire. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 9, 1921. Raised in Chicago, IL., she married Edward Matrejek on January 23, 1943 in Chicago, IL. She and her new family moved to Eau Claire in 1955. She was a loving and caring wife and active mother who enjoyed life, always having a smile on her face, and an incomparable curiosity. Memories of her happiness and smiles will be treasured by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sister-in-laws, Genevieve Prushinski (Chicago, IL) and Collette Karey (Atlanta, GA), daughters Pamela (Ron) Kowitz
(Greewood, WI) and Paula (Bob) Brown (Webster, WI), her son, Peter (Cathy) Matrejek (Minnetonka, MN), grandchildren, David (Stephanie)
Kowitz, Christopher Kowitz, Meagan Matrejek, Amanda Matrejek, her great-grandson, Ryan
Kowitz, her great granddaughter Katelyn Kowitz and many nieces and nephews. |

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Anna Taterka, her step mother Angeline Taterka, her husband Edward P. Matrejek, her daughter, Patricia Matrejek-D'Jock and brothers Norbert Karey and Robert Taterka.
Private Memorial services will be held with Monsignor Edmund Klimek officiating. Private entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
