Donald S. Maug, age 75 of Eau Claire passed away early Thursday morning January 6, 2011 at his home. 
 

 

   Funeral Services will take place at 11 am on Monday January 10, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1314 E. Lexington Blvd. Eau Claire, WI 54701. Pastor Kurt Jacobson will officiate. Committal services with military honors will take place on Monday afternoon at 2:30 pm in the Elk Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery in the Town of Hale rural Osseo. Friends may call at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home Sunday afternoon from 3-7 pm and at the church Monday morning an hour prior to the service. 
 
Don was born on September 26th, 1935 in the town of Hale, the son of Gilbert Maug and Ella Iverson Maug. He was the youngest of 11 children. He married Delores (Dee) Klebig Maug on October 7th, 1961 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Whitehall, WI.
 
Don worked at Pope and Talbot in Eau Claire, WI for 37 years. Don enlisted in the U.S. Army on October 6, 1955 and he was honorably discharged on October 4, 1957. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and American Legion Post #550, Brackett, WI.
   

He's been a part of the Rhythm Playboys Dance Band for 50 plus years where he met and enjoyed many friendships.
 
Don loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling with his grandchildren and nephews.
 
Don will be dearly missed by his wife Dee, two daughters Jenny (Jamie Pick) and Kiah (Mike Bauer), and grandchildren Tayler, Blake, Braden, Kali, Mason, and Ava, all of Eau Claire, WI. He is also survived by his four sisters Myrtle Rue, Mabel Wollum, Arlene Martinson, Emelia Ebert, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
 
Don was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers Hans, Edwin, Milan, Floyd and Ardell, and one sister Evelyn Johnson.
