Mary (Krizan) Mau, 89, of Eau Claire, WI was called to her heavenly home by her Lord and Savior on September 4, 2011 at the Syverson Lutheran Home in Eau Claire.
Mary was born July 4, 1922 in Donald, WI to John and Anna (Stanko)
Krizan. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheldon, WI. Upon graduating from Medford High School, she went to Chicago to work at various jobs and met Willard. They were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheldon on January 19, 1946.
They began their married life in the Chicago area but soon moved to Sheldon, WI to begin the Sheldon Printing Service. Mary went to work as the Flambeau School District Bookkeeper after the birth of her four children. She and Willard were owners of the Mau's Store in Sheldon from 1966-1980. |
While in Sheldon, Mary was very active in the Ladies Aid at Trinity Lutheran, the American Legion Auxiliary post #316, and various other community doings.

Mary and Willard retired and moved to the Eau Claire are in 1985. They became members of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and she joined their quilting circle and Ladies Aid. She also served for many years as a volunteer at the Chippewa Valley Museum in Eau Claire. They spent many winters in Florida, Arizona and Texas.
Mary is survived by a son, Delmer (Jacqie) Mau of Anthem, AZ, and daughters Delores (Allen) Guthman of Owen, WI; Darlene (Dennis) Plemon of Eau Claire; and Dorothy (Richard) Keiser of Circle Pines, MN; and grandchildren Linda, Michael, Aaron,
Krystle, Sean, Diana, Alison, Heidi, David, Dana, Amanda and Rebecca and 20 great grandchildren with one on the way; brothers Andrew (Helen) Krizan of Cornell,
Daniel(Beverly) Krizan of Sheldon, Thomas Krizan of Madison and sister Nellie Randall of Orlando, FL and many nieces, nephews and cousins. |

Mary was preceded in death by Willard, her husband of 60 years, her parents, a great grandchild, Nathan; five brothers and four sisters.
Mary loved God and her family and this was displayed in how she lived her life serving others. Mary's family would like to thank St. Joseph's Hospice and Syverson Lutheran Home-Grace Gardens for their care of Mary.
Funeral services for Mary will be at 1:30 pm. on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at
Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire, WI with Pastor Debra Boynton, Chaplain of Syverson Lutheran Home, officiating. Family and friends may visit from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Please enter the funeral home parking lot by using the north entry on South Street to avoid the construction. Private family burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sheldon, WI.
