She also enjoyed fishing and spending time at the cottage on Eau Claire Lake, playing cards, going to the casino and just keeping busy. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family and cherished times with her grandchildren and great-grand children.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Klein (Dr.Walter), Sally Heintz (Robert), one son, Dennis (LeAnn), all of Eau Claire; one sister, Nellie "Tag" Ellenberger of Eagle River, Wis., one sister-in-law, Dale McMahon of Eau Claire, one brother-in-law, Chester McMahon of Chetek, Wis., two son-in-laws, Terry Terman and Tim Hanson both of Eau Claire, Grandchildren, Laurie Blunt (John), LeAnn Hillman ( John Balz), Doug Hillman, Shane McMahon (Kelly), Tia Meyer, Trisa DiPaloa (Joel), Toy Haerter (Joel), Stori McMiller (J.J.), Season Dixon (Andy), Kayleigh Hanson, Cole Hanson and ten great grandchildren.

Avis was a lifetime member of Lake Street United Methodist Church. She played with her same "500" card club for over fifty years, she was involved in Duplicate Bridge and competed in Bridge Tournaments. She spent lots of time doing crafts, needlework, knitting and crocheting.
