Matthew G. Overhulser, 28, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, passed away in a tragic boating accident on July 22nd, 2011. He was born July 8th, 1983 the son of Gerald and Karen (Johnson) Overhulser in Eau Claire. He graduated from Memorial High School 2001 and attended CVTC. He was recently accepted into the Registered Nursing program this Fall.
Memorial Services will be at 11 am on Thursday July 28, 2011 at Peace Lutheran Church , 501 E. Fillmore,
Eau Claire, WI. Pastor Mark Schulz will officiate the services.
Visitation will be on Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 4-7 pm and again
on Thursday morning at 9am until the time of the service at the
church. |

He married, Taira Romanshek, June 7th, 2008. They were each other's true soul mates and best friends. The two of them had many memories with their two dogs, Bentley and Blue. Taira and Matt ("Bird") loved to camp, boat, kayak, bike, hike, and adventure together.
Matthew is survived by his wife, Taira, Mother, Karen, In laws, Robert and Jean Romanshek, Sister and Brother in law Maura and Leo Pohl of Minnesota, Aunt Debbie and Uncle Gary Krauter of Colby, WI. Uncle Joe and Sandi Johnson of AZ. Cousins Lori Evans and Ben Johnson. Uncle Jim and Aunt Diane Harsh, cousins Eric, Chris, and Jamie Harsh and other relatives. Dearest Friends Kyle Prynch and Mikale Probst and many more. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerry in 2006, grandparents Dean and Etheleen Overhulser and Edward and Bernice Johnson.
Matt grew up boating on the Mississippi River with his Mother and Father since the age of 10 months. He grew up and will be remembered as the kindest, warm-hearted man. He was the first person to help and to make a person smile. He had a way to make a room feel full of joy when he was there. Matt was currently employed at Andersen Windows.
