John E. Peterson, age 70, of Seymour Township, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at home with his family by his side.

John was born March 30, 1941 to Carl and Ernestine Peterson in Eau Claire. Throughout his childhood and into his early adult life John worked on the farm with his dad milking cows. In 1958 John began working at the Lafayette Creamery as a licensed butter maker and was later promoted to manager. John then began working for Olson Brothers as a well driller and later owned and operated J & D Pump Service, retiring in 2006. In 1985 John married Leanne (Moss) and was happily married for 25 years.

One of John's biggest passions was playing his bass guitar, which he did for 48 years. John started out in the band The Venetians and later started The 3 J's Band. John had a huge love for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles; making it to Sturgis 25 years in a row. He enjoyed most of his weekends at Winterhaven Resort with his "second family", most times watching the sun come up with his buddy Dave.

John loved hunting and fishing, always eager to get to the woods or on the pontoon. John was a huge sports fan, hardly ever missing a Packers or Badger game. John showed his loyalty by watching and re-watching the Packers win the Super Bowl in 2010. Most people will remember John's knack for remembering and telling jokes as he loved to make people laugh. John was a man that could never sit still; always starting new projects and lending a helping hand to anyone that needed it. John had a big voice and even bigger heart.

Upon John's request, he would like you to wear your Harley-Davidson, Bucky Badger or Green Bay Packer apparel to the visitation.

"Life ain't always beautiful, but it's a beautiful ride..."
