Frederick Franklin Piehl, age 94 passed away at his home in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on July 18, 2011.
He was born on March 9, 1917 to Emil F. and Ada(Harris) Piehl in Medford, Wisconsin.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am on Friday July 22, 2011 at the Pentecostal Assembly Church, 9 9th Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54703. Pastor Paul Bennett will officiate. Burial will immediately follow services in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Visitation will be at the Church on Thursday evening from 5-7 pm and again on Friday morning at the church from 9:30 am until the time of services. |

Fred was a logger, ice delivery man, milk man and meat cutter. He then established his own business, Fred Piehl Landscaping, from which he retired in 1979. Retirement included he and his wife building log homes, moves to Lander WY, Buffalo WY, and moving back to Wisconsin in 1997.
From his first marriage he was blessed with three children, Jeannette Marie, Judith Ann, and James Frederick.
On April 19, 1968 Fred married Audrey (Jacks) Wendell in Columbus, Ohio. Fred embraced her two daughters, Elaine Joy and Lynette Faith.
He is survived by his wife Audrey, son James (Diana), and daughter Lynette (Michael) Ackerman. Grandchildren Keith Griffen, Lisa Keding (U.S. Navy), Kris Garborg, Tanya (Wade) Frederick, Rachel Piehl, Mandy Boos, Ryan Boos, Jason (Karena) Whitaker, Bethany (John) Murphy, Mike Ackerman and Carey (Chad) Misura; along with great grandchildren, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, too many to enumerate.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Zella Dean, Marie Piehl, Ruth Wedlund, Brothers; Martin and Edwin Piehl; Daughters: Jeannette, Judith and
Elaine; grandson, Darren Griffen, and great-granddaughter, Eliana Joy Murphy.
Serving and living for the Lord was foremost in Fred's life. He deeply appreciated the western mountains, gardening, hunting, horse and especially enjoying his family. Services will be held at Fred's home church, Pentecostal Assembly.
The family would like to thank their pastor, church family and friends for their faithful prayers as well as the Mayo Health System and hospice home healthcare staff for their compassionate care and ministry to Fred.
